Mid-Century Draftsman

Found this vintage Boston Ranger 55 pencil sharpener (circa 1950s) at Vignettes in San Diego's Ocean Beach community, which boasts a bounty of antique shops.  Aside from a few minor issues, the unit still works like a charm (the freshly sharpened graphites prove it).  Wise investment for an artist who needs reliability.

This mid-century draftsman was made to last. 

Tarnished Lovely

One of two finds from a weekend trip to San Diego.  I came across this old clay pot at a museum benefit sale in Balboa Park.  The vessel's tarnished condition serves as a powerful reminder that every scar, scratch, peel, and chip only makes for a more compelling back story.  Origin and age uncertain.
