Memory
noun
noun
1.
The faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information.
2.
Something remembered from the past; a recollection.
It
was in October when I fell asleep next to you beneath a countless
assembly of resplendent dots. The night air was sweet, free. The
moonlight delicate. A soft, pale halo fell upon our small stake of land
- a flattened bed of unevenly tall, dried weeds. With slumbering trees
lining the hills surrounding us, a memory was made in the fleeting
moment. It was my birthday. I was with you, and I was utmost content.
Lying parallel to the great night sky, zipped in your sleeping bag, I
found myself staring at the first words you ever wrote me - a kind echo
of my own humble penning: Bright is the company of a thousand stars.
