The One I Need

12.1
mixed media on paper, 2016
38" x 50"

The paper itself, a Lenox 100, is about seven years old, maybe even older.
Pastel smudges, minor stains and folds, pencil and unknown markings were strewn across it before I went ahead and began applying new media.  Working on the floor on all fours was liberating.  Like a Pollock come alive.

Truth of the matter is I didn't know whether or not the 'intentional' would come into harmony with the presence of the 'unintentional' when I started this piece.  But I went ahead anyway.  And somehow I made good with what I had.  And that, for me, was far more than enough.

That was enough.
