My work.
My heart.

Small, but significant studies.
A harmonious blend of acrylic paint, watercolor, charcoal, soft pastels, and ink.

No. I and No. II began loosely as ink drawings intended for watercolor.  The watercolor, however, proved difficult to manipulate with the original ink forms.  Not unlike the manifestations on paper, my mind was also going through its own difficult process of settling recurring doubts and questions at the time.  Prepared to relinquish myself from the holds of a seemingly vain labor, I instead decided to investigate, possibly reform, the glaring 'mistakes' with a new approach: acrylic paint, soft pastels, and charcoal atop the ink and watercolor.  As undulating lines began to echo recourse, I slipped into the well-worn shoes of a tired laborer and watched what was once believed to be damaged grounds turn into fertile soil.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

-2 Corinthians 4:16-18
