Blind Contours

It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but
a lifetime to paint like a child.   -Pablo Picasso

From 2013 archives.

I am drawn to childlike scribbles (unintended pun).
To see the world through the eyes of a child . . . may be the best thing humans can do right now.  Back to the beginning.  Back to wonder.
Back to the uncomplicated.

(These blind contours were part of a graduated practice in allowing hands to move intuitively yet determinedly while having eyes closed--vision limited only to collected imagery saved on mental hard drive.  Unsurprisingly, I have used both drawings as foundations for larger works on canvas.)
